Why Do We Need
Islamic Online Schooling?

Not Enough Islamic Schools

NSW Islamic Schools have long wait lists and there aren't enough schools to meet the demand of Muslim students.

Geographic Proximity

Travel times to & from school is becoming longer, and for regional & rural Muslims in NSW accessing an Islamic School is near impossible.

Quality Education

Those opting to home school are often faced with the challenge of finding qualified teachers to assist their childs learning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between homeschooling and online schooling?

Homeschooling typically places all responsibility for teaching and curriculum design on the parents, who act as primary educators. Distance education (online schooling), on the other hand, provides a structured curriculum delivered by qualified teachers through digital platforms. Parents support learning at home, but the school handles lesson planning, instruction, and assessments.

Which year levels will the online school cater to?

Unity Grammar’s Online School initially plans to offer classes for Secondary (Years 7–10), with a view to expand to senior years (Years 11 and 12) and primary years (Years K-6) if there is sufficient demand.

Will the online school be accredited or recognized by relevant authorities?

Yes. The curriculum will align with the requirements of the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA). We will ensure all guidelines for distance education are met so that the online school maintains the highest standards and recognition.

How does Islamic education fit into the curriculum?

Islamic studies, Qur’an, and Arabic will be integrated into the curriculum, similar to our on-campus program. Lessons will foster Islamic values and ethics throughout, ensuring a holistic educational experience that supports academic and spiritual growth.

Is the online school accepting enrolments?

Currently we are taking expressions of interest. Once we validate that there is demand for this service we will reach out to those who have expressed interest with next steps.

Who will be teaching the online classes?

All online classes will be delivered by qualified, experienced teachers from Unity Grammar. They are skilled in virtual instruction and committed to providing personalised support to meet each student’s learning needs.

How will assessments and exams be conducted?

Assessments will be a mix of online quizzes, projects, and scheduled exams. Some assessments require live proctoring via video calls, while others may be completed independently under supervision at home. This ensures academic integrity and accurate evaluation of student progress.
